Faye Moore
President
After joining city service as a clerical employee, Faye became a caseworker in Child Welfare and became a member of SSEU Local 371. Active in advocating for workers' right on location, she joined the Union staff in 1993 as an Executive Assistant to the president. She was the first elected Vice President of Grievances and Legal Services in 1994.

Since then she has supervised a staff of eleven and the Union's two law firms. The Grievance staff processes and wins more grievances and disciplinaries than any other local in DC37 and has scored victories worth tens of thousands of dollars for Union members. Faye has served as chair of the legal Services fund for fourteen years.

"I passionately believe in providing the best representation possible for our union members," she says. "In a vast City bureaucracy, the union provides workers with a voice and an advocate."

Faye has served as the Co-Chair of the Woman's Committee and Co-chair of the Black History Committee.


Yolanda Pumarejo
Executive Vice President
Executive Vice President since 1995, Yolanda began her career working in child welfare in Staten Island. A longtime activist and delegate, she earned her MSW and CSW while working on location. Yolanda is Co- chair of the Union's Latino Heritage Committee and Chair of the Committee of Concerned Social Workers. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW), LCLAA (the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement) and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU).

Beverly Mallory-Brown
Vice President of Organization & Education
Vice President since 1997, Beverly heads the Organization Section. She has broad experience working for the union. She began as an Organizer in 1982 and subsequently served as a Grievance Rep and as Associate Secretary-Treasurer. She began her civil service career as a Caseworker in the Bronx. She is a longstanding member of the Association of Black Social Workers. She is Co-chair of the Union's Black History Committee. She also plays an active role in the Union's W omen's Committee and is a member of LCLAA, CLUW and CBTU.

Michelle Akyempong
Vice President for Politic Action
Michelle began her career in 1985 as a Caseworker in Adult Protective Services in Brooklyn. Immediately prior to her election as Vice President, she was a Supervisor III at Home Care Services (CASA IV) in Staten Island. Michelle received her BA degree from York College. She has served as Alternate and Delegate on location, Delegate to DC 37 and a member of the Bargaining Committee. She is a member of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, the Women's Committee, Black History and Caribbean Heritage Committees. She has been active in the Political Action Committee and is a political and community activist in Staten Island.

Anthony Wells
Vice President Negotiations & Research
Anthony began his career in 1980 as a Caseworker at Spofford Juvenile Center in the Bronx. In 1983 he moved to BCW where he served as Delegate from the Queens Field Office. In 1988 he joined the union as an Organizer, becoming Associate Director of Organizing in 1990 and Associate Director of Negotiations and Research in 1995. He was elected as Vice President in 1999. As head of the Negotiations and Research Section, Anthony heads the Union's Bargaining Committee and conducts labor-management meetings. He also serves on the DC 37 Pension Committee. Anthony received his MSW from Stony Brook University and his law degree from New York Law School.

Joe Nazario
Secretary-Treasurer
Joe's long union career began in 1972 as an HCI at Metropolitan Hospital. He served as Delegate Union Trustee, HHC Chapter Chair and Welfare Fund Trustee. He was Local 371 Associate Treasurer from 1978 to 1982 when he went to DC 37 as a Council Rep. He returned to the Local to be Secretary Treasurer in 2002. He serves as an Executive Board Member of LCLAA, Co-chair of the Latino Heritage Committee and as Treasurer for VIDA family services.

Michelle Conklin
Vice President Publicity & Community Relations
Michelle began her career as a Housing Assistant in the Housing Authority. She then became an HCI in the HHC. Next she joined ACS as a Caseworker, where she was elected Alternate and then Delegate. She was a member of the Bargaining Committee and the Union's Executive Board. She was promoted to HRA's Homeless Diversion Unit, then promoted again back to ACS. Michelle joined the Union staff in 1999 as a Grievance Rep and was elected Vice President of Publicity in 2005.

Lloyd Permaul
Vice President Greivances
Lloyd joined HRA in 1990 as a Caseworker. He served as a Union Delegate and Delegate to DC 37. He became a Union grievance rep in March 1996. Lloyd graduated from Albany State University. He is the Co-chair of the Caribbean Heritage Committee, a member of the Political Action Committee, CBTU, CLUW, LCLAA and the Black History Committee.
