Printer-friendly versionIf an employee has filed for any disability retirement and, prior to the approval of the application makes direct payment pursuant to the Comprehensive Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act ("COBRA") to prevent discontinuation of the basic health insurance coverage, upon approval of the disability application the Employer shall request the basic health insurance carrier to reimburse the employee in the amount of the direct premiums paid by the employee which premiums were also paid by the Employer. The Employer shall upon request provide the employee with a letter to the carrier indicating the effective dates of coverage under the New York City Employee Health Benefits Program.
