Governor Andrew Cuomo has received a waiver from the Federal government for $10 million in order to overhaul Medicaid, which among other things would privatize CASA. The news is a harsh blow to thousands of senior citizens who rely on home care and will now be transferred into managed care facilities. SSEU Local 371 represents 900 CASA workers.

The Union is determined to make sure that not one of those members becomes unemployed. “We will continue to fight,” President Anthony Wells said.
