Section 21

Bereavement leave shall be granted for the death of an employee's spouse; "domestic partner," as defined in the New York Administrative Code Section 1-112(21); natural, foster or step parent; child; brother or sister; father-in-law; mother-in-law or other relative residing in the household.
Effective November 26, 1999, bereavement leave shall be granted for the death of a grandchild.
When a death in an employee's family occurs while the employee is on annual or sick leave, such time as is excusable for death in the family shall not be charged to annual or sick leave.
