  1. Retirees shall continue to have the option of changing their previous choice of Health Plans. This option shall be:
    1. a one-time choice;
    2. exercisable only after one year of retirement; and
    3. exercisable at any time without regard to contract periods.
    Such changes to a new plan shall be effectuated as soon as practicable but no later than the first day of the month three months after the month in which the application has been received by the New York City Employee Health Benefits Program.
  2. Effective with the reopener period for health insurance subsequent to January 1, 1980 and every two years thereafter, retirees shall have the option of changing their previous choice of health plans. This option shall be exercised in accordance with procedures established by the Employer. The Union will assume the responsibility of informing retirees of this option.
